Fox ESS Solar Batteries – Modular, High-Voltage & Flexible Storage Solutions

Fox ESS is a relatively newer brand in solar battery storage, offering high-voltage, LiFePO₄ (Lithium Iron Phosphate) battery systems. Their battery lines are designed for modular expansion, safety, efficiency, and backup / hybrid usage in homes or light commercial setups.

Key Models / Series & Capacity Types

Fox ESS has multiple series with different form-factors & capacities. The main ones include:

ECS Series (High-Voltage Modular / Stackable System)

Uses “CS” battery modules plus a control module (CM).

Modular capacity ranges roughly from ≈ 5.8 kWh up to ≈ 42 kWh nominal (depending on how many modules are used).

Supports Depth-of-Discharge (DoD) around 90%.

IP65 rating for many units, meaning suitable for indoor or sheltered outdoor use.

Cooling is generally passive / natural convection (no loud fans).

EP Series (Fixed / Wall-Mounted Units)

These are more compact wall/floor-mount batteries.

Example capacities: ~ 5.18 kWh (EP5) and 10.36 kWh (EP11), usable energy.

Ideal for homeowners who want simpler installations without stacking modules.

Scalable by placing multiple EP units in parallel when needed.

HV (High Voltage) Battery Modules

For example the HV2600 line: small modular units (~2.56 kWh each) that can be stacked in series to achieve higher voltage / higher energy capacity (up to ~20.48 kWh in some configurations).

Good option for systems needing higher voltage architecture.

Mira Series HV25

Modular high-voltage battery units.

One unit is about 2.45 kWh, with setups scaled from 2 units up to 8 units (giving up to ~ 19.66 kWh).

High efficiency, good discharge rates, designed for flexible installation.

EQ Series

Fixed-module series such as EQ3300, EQ4800 etc.

Each module gives a usable capacity ~ 4.66-4.92 kWh depending on model.

Systems built from EQ modules can be expanded (multiple modules).

Technical & Performance Highlights

Here are some of their important specifications and what customers can expect:

Chemistry: LiFePO₄ (Lithium Iron Phosphate) — better safety, longer cycle life, thermal stability.

Depth of Discharge (DoD): ~ 90% usable, meaning most of the stored energy can be used.

Round-trip / Charge-Discharge Efficiency: Many units have >95% efficiency for charging/discharging.

Cycle Life & Warranty: ≥ 6,000 cycles in many models. Warranties are often around 10 years.

Temperature & Environmental Ratings: Operating range often from about -10°C up to about +50 to +55°C for discharge, and charge sometimes slightly more limited (0-50°C). IP65 rating for many units.

Scalability: Modules can be stacked (in series or parallel depending on model) to increase energy storage. Some lines support up to 7 modules, or up to ~ 40+ kWh in larger setups.

Advantages of Fox ESS Batteries

Offers modular systems so you can start small and expand later as needs grow.

High usable energy (because of high DoD) and efficient energy use.

LiFePO₄ chemistry means safer operation and better longevity.

IP65 protection and wide temp range allow for flexible installation both indoors/outdoors where suitable.

Good value cost per usable kWh compared to some premium brands.
